Daedalic Entertainment sent us today some new screenshots to share with you about their upcoming game, Edna and Harvey: The Breakout which is set to be released in Germany in May 2008 with other countries to follow.
 

Today we received more information to share with you from Daedalic Entertainment about one of the location of their upcoming game The Whispered World.

In the upcoming adventure game The Whispered World from Daedalic Entertainment, hero Sadwick sets out on a perilous journey. An ancient prophecy is supposed to lead him on his way, but first he will have to find it. His adventure begins in the Autumn Forest, where the foliage brims with color thoughout the year. Here he comes across the decaying remains of a building - only a doorway seems to have stood the test of time – but what secrets lie beyond? The second new screenshot shows an old grandfather clock that is part of another riddle for Sadwick to overcome in search of the prophecy.

Protagonist Sadwick is a young clown but and far from being in a laughing mood. He travels a fairy tale world with his family’s circus. One night, a mysterious form speaks to him in a dream and sends him on perilous journey. Many challenges await Sadwick, for the world he knows so well is doomed...

In the vein of classic adventure games, gamers direct Sadwick and his constant companion, a little worm named Spot, through the gorgeous backdrops of the game world. Hand-painted backgrounds filled with animated details and lovingly crafted characters in the style of classic animated films bring the story to life. The Whispered World meshes fairy-tale elements with melancholic undertones to create an epic fantasy story.

The fantasy adventure game will be released for PC in the 4th quarter of 2008.

Announced a few days ago by Daedalic Entertainment, Edna and Harvey: The Breakout already come back, today, with a debut trailer, that will gave you a preview of the game 2D design, and also a bit of information on the story, while showing you just a very small gameplay part.

Very active, Daedalic sent us a new Press Release about their third games, which is introduced by a very funny press release, which is mocking a little bit the current games evolution, that you will find below, and with a single piece of art.

In a truly insane move, Daedalic Entertainment has announced Edna and Harvey: The Breakout, a new point & click adventure game that will make do without real-time particle effects, parallax occlusion mapping or integrated physics engine.

In Edna and Harvey: The Breakout, Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past or how she ended up there. Only one thing is for certain: She has been wrongfully imprisoned and will have to escape! After all, she feels entirely sane – and her speaking stuffed toy bunny Harvey wholeheartedly agrees. Together they undertake a daring breakout attempt, meeting up with numerous oddball inmates, like the Man in the Bee’s Costume or Siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, the sinister head of the institute, will do everything in his power to stop Edna. What evil scheme is afoot? Slowly Edna begins to regain her memories of the past…

Edna and Harvey: The Breakout is a point & click adventure game in the vein of the genre’s classics. Backgrounds and characters are completely 2D and drawn by hand by a real person in the game’s unique cartoon style. The game’s characters range from odd to genuinely crazy – twisted humor guaranteed! Thanks to challenging puzzles, extensive dialogues and more than 120 screens, gamers can look forward to an extraordinarily long gameplay experience.

Edna and Harvey: The Breakout is set to be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in May 2008 with additional territories to follow.

Daedalic Entertainment sent us some new pictures of their first in house developed game A New Beginning, as well as some information on the game storyline.

The year 2050: The cities of the world lie in ruins. Catastrophic climate change, long prophesized, has devastated the world with fatal consequences. In a flooded San Francisco, time pilot Fay overlooks the magnitude of the destruction. Sent from a distant future to avert the evisceration of mankind, she is faced with the horrible realization that it is already too late. The last hope for salvation is another desperate leap back in time to our present!

 In the eco-thriller A New Beginning from Daedalic Entertainment, Fay teams up with scientist Bent Svensson to try and stem the tide. Players will experience an absorbing adventure about the most important issue of our times. At locations around the globe, it is up to them to change the course of history – with the whole world hanging in the balance.

 Backgrounds like the devastated skyline of San Francisco are constructed from more than 20 2D layers to ensure a realistic sense of depth and high level of detail. More than 130 locations make A New Beginning one of the largest adventure games in recent years. The more than 30 characters are rendered in a realistic 2D style and are painstakingly animated by hand in feature film quality.

The classic point & click adventure game from Daedalic Entertainment is set for release on PC, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii in 2009.
